[BaseCamp] saving from Google KML to BaseCamp GPX

Every year for the Tour of Honor, Rick Eve (sponsor for West Virginia)
produces The Works map -- containing all TOH memorials in one map.
https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1hxduEhKxdXhp3o7hlqS9w0ZeuHvWzZY&ll=46.79184498128873%2C-112.88212999999998&z=3

When that is exported as KML and imported to BaseCamp as GPX file, all of
the custom icons that Rick uses in Google for the memorial locations on the
map become just Blue Flag icons in BaseCamp. All of the mapping data
exports>>>imports just fine. It's the icons that I am also interested in
bringing over.

How would one bring Rick's various icons from The Works map over to
BaseCamp along with the mapping data? (If it isn't possible, what's the
easy way to create icons in BaseCamp? I've tried in the past and failed, so
I end up using just the BaseCamp default options rather than customized
ones.)

Thanks, Joe Y.
