My friends answer (below in French: sorry) confirms the "worst" fears:
in simple words - it is forbidden to import such systems and customs 
could seize it and give it back to you once you leave the country.
That's the law.
I can't believe that the meager controls at the Swiss border will 
specifically  used to search for GPS systems ...
But maybe this will turn out to be a good pretext to search for drugs.
Second problem: the police would have to be able to recognize this type 
of system, which means they'd have to know to operate the system.
Third: road checks in Switzerland are scarce.

In other words: take your chances and play dumb (if necessary).

I wouldn't be surprised if the EU were to jump on the same train pretty 
soon.

La Suisse ne peut pas dicter ce qui est admissible ou non à l'étranger, mais l'article 57b de la loi sur la circulation routière interdit l'importation en Suisse de GPS munis de la fonction de détecteurs de radar. Un touriste qui veut circuler en Suisse avec son propre véhicule est tenu de respecter la législation suisse. Par conséquent, les autorités douanières peuvent, par exemple, saisir de tels GPS et les remettre à leur propriétaire au moment où ils quittent le territoire suisse. La situation n'est pas différente par rapport aux véhicules qui ne correspondent pas aux normes suisses et qui ne sont pas autorisés à circuler en Suisse. Un touriste ne peut pas dans ce cas prétendre avoir malgré tout le droit de circuler en Suisse avec un tel véhicule. Cela dit, les normes techniques concernant les véhicules sont largement harmonisées au niveau européen.
