The end of summer?

I'm glad I went dirt biking Saturday with my daughter, my
friend Bruce, his son and his son's friend. We were riding
up around 11,000 to 12,000ft near Leadville Colorado and
had a great day riding. Then the next day my wife and I
tried to ride Rocky Mtn National Park on the GPZ but turned
around at the top after getting hit by rain, small hail,
and snow pellets, not to mention it was obviously pouring
rain in the Grand Lake side. Here's today's news from that
storm:

"Several ski areas in the high country received a dusting
of white snowflakes Monday morning, the first measurable
snowfall of the season. With only 53 days until
Breckenridge and Keystone fire up the chairlifts for
opening day, resort officials are hopeful the early snow
will translate to a great snow year in Colorado. The high
country got a couple inches of wet snow above 11,000 feet,
but it did not have any effect on the driving conditions in
the lower areas."

I guess if you're a skier it's great news...
