   Make real sure your "figure 8" gaskets under the valve cover are in REALLY good shape when installing these block-off plates, especially the small loop that goes around the hollow dowel pin. That hole leads to the exhaust port where the venturi effect of the exhaust gas creates low pressure. If the gasket fails, you'll be sucking oil into the exhaust system from beneath the valve cover, turning the GPZ into a very effective mosquito fogger. Best idea is to plug these 4 passages.
Leave the reeds in unless you plug them.
