Ron, I dunno if you have a multi meter but you should have 12v at the thick brown wire that goes into the fuse box with the IGNITION ON
If you don't then check the main fuse - follow the battery +ve to the solenoid. It's in on top of the solenoid.
If it was running before you laid it up, then it's more likely a bad connection. Check the connections at the solenoid
Check the frame ground by putting the +ve lead on your battery +ve and the negative on a frame ground such as the bolts that hold on the passanger grab rail.
If that checks out OK then it is likely the brown connector that is under the Gas tank or the ignition switch. Ignition switches will often go again if you jiggle them before they crap out completely.
Odds are it's one of the last two..

If you're on you're original ignition switch that is sus

  Hey Pete, and guys
Thanks. I was needing to say that my trouble is that when I turn my igition key, there are no lights period. Not able to start the bike. One moment I'm riding, come home, in driveway, shut it off. Later, come out and turn the key and zero lights - sero starting... Tried to do the little charger thing, but it would not go to red (charging) condition. Bought a new battery, still no igition lights when key is turned. Not a problem since the old battery was easily 4 years old.
  Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for what ever you can add to this.
  Ron Jordan

  Ron
It sounds like a bad ground. Theres a 3 pin connector with Black and Yellow wire on one contact. I'd check that out for dirty contacts. Don't remember if that is under the tank or behind the headlight. I'm guessing behind the headlight.

    Hey Pete and guys!

Thanks for your thoughts. I have an issue I would appreciate help with:

M bike doesn't show any lights onnn the dash all of a sudden. I thought it was battery and bought new one and charged it. Still no lights. Must be a wire? Is there a fused link here? I must admit to stupidity, but so what. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    That sucks.
I'm not religous, but I''ll say a prayer for Earle and Ron..
Dam'n disease is all around us, I know other listers have had family effected, and you always think it happens to somebody else. Coming home from the the Ohio GPZ bash last June I called my wife who said she'd been sick but didn't wanna spoil my ride, so didn't say anyhing till I was on my way home. Turned out to be Ovarian cancer. Although the survival rate for Ovarian cancer is not good, she's responding well to treatment so far, and has just gone back to work part time.
The good news is that all treatments are vastly improving. Not that we have any breasts on the list that I'm aware of, but breast cancer is often curable these days if found early - so check your wifes breast daily ;-). Same thing for Rectal cancer, so get checked out and make sure it's a female doctor - besides the obvious reason, they also have smaller fingers..
