Hi All,

Happy New Year!

As a new member I thought it would be good to get other peoples opinions
on tips and tricks for daily riding in wind, rain, sleet and snow. I
bought my GPZ at the end of last summer and have had little time to enjoy
my ride in a comfortable environment.

Scottish weather is not the best for biking and additional gear is a must
if you don't want to end up dreading your ride as your putting on your
helmet.

At the moment I'm using my parents winter trousers and jacket and recently
bought myself some Alpinestar Vega Drystar gloves @ £70, all of which
prove ineffective at keeping the general cold out. Not to bad if you live
in California but when your riding in -5 with wind chill close to -20 it
becomes incredibly uncomfortable, even dangerous.
I've been looking at the option of heated gloves, heated grips and heated
body warmers but the information out there is contradictory and limited
and when the prices are starting at £150 for quality gloves, further
advise is a must.

In addition I am tall, 6ft 5, with size 15(UK) feet and arms like
orangutans therefore I need kit that can accommodate my size.

Any tips and tricks for getting started in the morning or keeping going
around roundabouts while suffering from carb freezing, would be
appreciated too.

Hope you all had a good time during this festive period and I may see you
at the Isle of Man TT?

Cheers,
Rob Justice
