Engine will not operate off choke.

I had a similar problem recently and found out one of my plugs was fouling
with gas as the petcock was leaking. Just ordered a rebuild kit off of ebay
for the petcock kit, only ~$12 and figure the years have taken it's toll.
While I agree this bike is a bit finicky when starting I owe it all to my
excessive lean jetting for mile high altitude. To be honest my '88 ZX10 was
just as finicky and I think that was the lean CA jetting as it got better
when I moved to Colorado.

I've had an ongoing, similar problem for almost a year (one of these days I
might get around to fixing it, too). For me, if the bike sits for more than
4 or 5 days, one of the float bowls slowly dries up, causing it to run on 3
cylinders until vacuum and time refill the bowl (sometimes takes many miles,
and when the fourth cylinder fires up - WHAM! FULL POWER!!).

At the same time, *one* of my main jets sticks a bit. Idling is fine, but
as soon as I crack the throttle the bike stumbles. Badly. Again, this is
only if the bikes sits for a while (a sad reality, given the schedule I
keep). Keeping a steady diet of K100 fuel additive, Stabil ethanol
treatment, and an occasional dollop of Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas tank
all help, and riding with the choke cranked up makes it possible to keep
riding until everything fills/loosens up - but the bottom line is fuel
delivery.

This Geeper has proven to be *much* more finicky and riddled with fueling
problems than my last one. I think I need to do a complete rebuild (again)
this winter, and maybe return to the stock jets (I *think* the previous
owner installed a jet kit) but adjust them for the V&H system.
