It was 4C (40F) when I left Port Elmsley at 8:45 pm.  When I dropped 
down alongside the mighty Mississippi at Pakenham I thought I got shot 
by Mr. Freeze of

0C/32F.   If you're out and about near here.  The Bogie end of the 
Calabogie road is more tar snake than asphalt.  Due to the heavy snow 
load of snow we got this past winter the local snow removal crews were 
very generous with the sand.  Since we haven't had much rain it's 
still on the paved back roads making the corners very trecherous.
The V strom's suspension has it all over the GPz for our frost heaved 
pot holed roads here in Ontario but I still miss the jet engine  wail 
of that 4 cylinder when it winds up.
Now to check out a few yard sales this summer in hopes of finding a 
good pair of snowmobile mitts.  Hey its my Scots nature.  You get a 
far better deal on winter stuff in July than January.  I have a pair 
of $5.00 magnesium snow shoes that were $299.99 at Mountain Co-op.  If 
I want a cheap snow machine I'd shop now.
Sorry about that last email.  This new lap top fires off stuff when it 
feels like it.
