it is easier and cheaper to make rods than plate and all things that you
need to change with it.cam chain,maybe exhaust....
longer rods would have better angle.

My current motor has a stroker crank in it and the guy who built it
used shorter rods
rather than using a spacer plate (crank has 68mm stroke vs stock
62.6mm). I'm curious
as to what the pros and cons are of the different methods. I can
understand the idea of
less dwell time with the shorter rods, but does this really affect
power? Are we talking
about tenths of a horsepower less by using the short rods instead of
the long rods or is
it more?
