KC, I agree. Knowing what is in and how the motor is setup is the way to go.
It was my intention to do just that. I've got pistons and cams to put into
that engine sitting in my toolbox drawer. Unfortunately, events caught up
with me and I ended up having to throw together the bike and not do the
things I had planned. Not having a heated garage really was a pretty big
issue this past winter. That and my day-job cutting into my hobby. :-) The
other problem is that until I started with the first track bike 2 years ago,
I would not work on any motor. So, at 40+ years of age, I am way behind in
the learning curve when it comes to this stuff. That is one of the reasons I
subscribe to these lists, is to learn.Wendell
