Speaking of water pumps: I've never had mine off, but I wonder about a possible 
oil/water mix opportunity.

A common failure on the Yamaha RZ 350 (watercooled two-stroke) is the seal on 
the water pump. Its failure allows oil to mix with coolant, giving the very same 
milkshake look described in this SV.

Does such a failure occur in SVs?

Something to look at, maybe...
