When I wanted to place 2 inch tall numbers on my helmet, I contacted a local graphics/sign shop and had them cut me some custom numbers.  They made four sets for me and I think it cost under $20.00.  Check out your local vinyl shops for options.  A lot of custom car guys are having vinyl graphics created and installed instead of air brushing.  Neil.
