Rear brake light switch

The rear brake light does not come on when I step down. Narrowed it down to the 
switch. There is a long spring with a hook on each end. Pull down on spring and 
light comes on! Yeah.

Problem: The bottom end of the spring is not attached to anything. No good 
picture in the suzuki manual. no good picture in the clymer manual. Where the 
hell does the spring attach to. Maybe someone can help with some info and a 
quick pic of your bike?
