water temp sensor fitment

Npt id on odd thread type. The Hole you're working with is metric but a 3/8
NPT will screw in tighten up and not leak. Has to do with the trapper for
the hole and the thread pitch is very close to the metric.

I think I read once upon a time that the SV650 (1st gen if it matters)
uses a 3/8" NPT thread for the water temp sensor.  Is that correct?
