Problems:
At 21,000 the trip meter stopped running. At 40,000 the fuel gage started working on & off. Has not worked at all now since 50,000. New voltage regulator last year at 64,000 or so, and starter solenoid around 64,300. A couple of blown fuses for headlight. Turn signals seem to run slow, especially on the right.

My first bike was an 80 xj650 and wanted a "little bit bigger". Test rode it and wanted it. Got a deal - was on a showroom for awhile! Just a bit top heavy but no big deal. Great cross country bike, power all over the place and still get around 39-40 at 65. Faster than that and it goes down fast!

Problems:
Missing starter button -- and just about any key will serve to turn it on. Some occasional flow problems in first gear, accelerating from idle. Also slips from 2nd to neutral about 1 in 100. Small split in the back of the seat. Oh -- and I can't find an actual air filter that fits, with the rigid brackets in-place!

Comments:
Bought the bike from an Air Traffic Controller who was moving. Found out 1st night that it hates the rain, and will occasionally just sputter and die. ;-( Bike was stolen on 7/7/05, but found it on 7/11/05, with 21 additional miles and no damage, about 4 blocks away. Strangely, mixes well with the HD crowd -- unless they're a bunch of purists -- as well as the power bikers.
