1983 Moto Guzzi LeMans III

I acquired this bike from a friend in June of 1996. I first rode it about 10 or 11 years ago when I was riding an '85 K100RS and liked it a lot. I told Tom about 3 years ago to let me know if and when he wanted to part with it. Lucky me, he did. Mechanically the bike is quite nice, with only 10.6k miles on the clock. It has a nice Corbin saddle, a Dyna III ignition, and came with the owner's manual, a shop manual, a parts manual, and an original sales brochure for the 1983 Lemans III.

The bad news is that another friend of his did a "parking-lot dump" with momentum — enough momentum to break the right footpeg bracket (since replaced with NOS) and spin the bike on the right cylinder breaking some fins and damaging the valve cover. The right turn signal was ground off (also replaced), and the header and muffler scratched but not dented. The poor guy's head dented the gastank, which has been repaired but not repainted.

It looks pretty good in this photo in spite of the damage...

Here you can see the gastank repair (still unpainted)

The scratch along the bottom edge of the right muffler...

The fairing damage to the right side.

..and the worst of the damage. Broken fins and valve cover on the right cylinder
Here's a close up if you're interested...
