chain noise?

Hi all.
I recently replaced my chain and sprockets (thanks to EVERYBODY who 
replied to my query for help...Art Lischer, your pics confirmed my 
setup...thanks hugely ;-D)

Thing is..now, new parts added...and I get a really neat sounding 
whine.  It wasn't there on the last set of final-drive gear, so I'm not 
sure what to make of it.  I've only managed maybe 50 miles or so since 
the new parts went on, which means I don't know if it's going to wear 
off with mileage and time, or if I'm stuck with it.  All my bearings are 
good, chain slack is a just a tad on the loose side (and that's another 
question...when torqued down, the chain wants to tighten up BIGtime...no 
idea why, as nothing appears amiss...)

Anybody have some input, perhaps, on these things?  I'm confused as to 
*why* they're there..when nothing is mechanically wrong.
