swingarm installation

Dave,
     I looked at my "spare" swingarm and the 1/2" spacer does in fact go in 
the right side of the swingarm and with the spacer in, it measures about 9 
7/8" across, including the spacer. What's this other 7/8" spacer? I'll bet 
it came out of the frame.
