Chain/sprocket info needed again...

Bad practice to re-use old sprockets, every chain manufacturer will tell you to replace everything. Not just for motorcycles either it applies to any chain driven machinery.

Cheapness and longevity are paramount. Flashiness and lightness
aren't. I note some of the super-awesome-looking aluminum rear
sprockets are very pricey but are not reputed to last long compared to
steel.

Is the D.I.D. 530VM X-ring a good one? How about this CS sprocket?

BTW, how much difference does it REALLY make to swap sprockets with
the chain (even if the current sprockets still look good, square
teeth, etc.)?

Seems to me the chain bushings wear out before the teeth on the
sprockets do... or at least that's been my experience.
