I don't know how they can do it. I have a hard enough time managing the
standard transmission in my 4 x 4, changing 8 track tapes, gettin' another
beer and slidin' the 20 gauge pump out the window to knock off a ruffed
grouse while navigating some bush road, let alone operate a telephone. I'd
also be more than a little POd when some SOB called me in the bush offering
me a time share in Terra del Fuego, dinner for 2 in my own home followed by
a walking tour of the village of Cobden, a cruise on the Dead Sea or to
extend the warranty on my Corvair Monza. Actually these are the only calls
I get at home.
Its a beautiful day here at the cottage on the Ottawa River. Its drizzling
rain and 4C (40F). I guess I can be glad there's not a 100 kmh (60 mph)
wind.
I got 2 canoes, 2 kayaks, 2 lawn mowers, 2 motorcycles and a sail board put
away yesterday. Just 3 more lawn mowers, 2 more motorcycles, 2 boats, 2
motors and 2 cottages.
With the night time temperatures of -7C (19F) coming this week I wish
Marilyn hadn't rented 775. I'd like to have the water in both places
drained right now and be running on central heating instead of the wood
stove. We may have a plumbing bill for burst pipes that will be far higher
than the income gained on the week's rent of the cottage. I'm getting too
old for this shit!!
