Tom:
I thought the shim replacement tutorial was still available on the GPz List
Website but my link is dead. Did I miss the retirement of
http://list.gpz1100.com? I can't find the PDF file on my home PC but I'm
sure I have it at work. I'll send it to you off list.
Regards,
Paul in Ohio

Subject: Out of lurk mode............SHIMS
I haven't riden for about a year, and when I parked her, she was running
rough. When I bought it there was ~9000 miles, and not there are 21000. I
have never done a shim adj/replacement. I am sure this makes me a very bad
person on some level over the last 6 years or so. I have the factory
manual, but no parts. I was trying to find out about just paying someone to
do it but of course no dealer wants to touch anything more than 10 years old
and the "best guy in town" is at least 2 weeks backed up and wants more than
$300 for doing it. Soooooo, since I have been quietly lurking for the last
couple of years, I am out of practice for finding all the old posts, and
certainly don't recall what to order from the stealer/parts places. I know
this has been rehashed over and over, but the wisdom of the ages would be
appreciated once again.
By the way, the facebook thing could really be neat and effective since
posting pix and video would be much easier. Maybe I will do that with my
work....
Thanks
Tom
