According to the manual, the numbers should be these:

Front wheel axle nut: 98 Nm (10 kg/m or 72 ft/lb)
Front wheel pinch bolts: 20 Nm (2.0 kg/m or 14.5 ft/lb)
Front caliper mount bolts: 34 Nm (3.4 kg/m or 25 ft/lb)
Rear wheel axle nut: 110 Nm (11 kg/m or 80 ft/lb)
Rear brake caliper bolts: 25 NM (2.5 kg/m or 18 ft/lb)

Yes, those values are totally accurate from the tech manual.
Even a dark green one would run with those values.

That no traffic part would be nice.  We have some very good roads here in
NC and had the same in Colorado, but too many damn people on the roads

It’s literally been a decade or longer since I’ve posted here but, I’ve decided to part with my ‘96 after buying it as a new leftover in 1998. It has 16,015 miles on it. Runs but could use some carb TLC. New air filter and battery. Has two cracks on the front fairing thanks to my EZ Pass transponder and the fuel gauge stopped working this winter. Never been down. I’ll get some pictures up (if I’m able). First question is what do you guys think it’s worth followed by does anyone want it? It’s located in the Allentown, PA area of the US. Kawasaki parts online may be expensive but available.

$900 is a slap in the face, but most riders have no idea what this bike is or what its capabilities are. It takes the right buyer. Mine is a little rough and I still don't think I would take less than $1500 for it, although truthfully, I've gotten my money's worth out of it.

For reference, I (sadly) sold my '96 a few years ago, still in excellent 
condition with 106,000 repair-free miles on it.  It had heated grips, 
Helibars, Zero Gravity screen, full Givi racks, and so forth.

What with the odometer reading, I was only able to get US$1500.

Seller's regret set in nearly a year later and I attempted to contact 
the buyer to get it back, to no avail.

Interestingly, it was still on its second drive chain, a DID X-ring.  It 
had 58,000 miles on it and was still within length specification, ran 
silently, and had no kinking.  PJ-1 Blue Label for that win.

It was the smoothest-running motorcycle I ever had excepting the 
six-cylinder Gold Wings, and even then, not by much.

It's current-day replacement, a '99 Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird, is doing 
a fair job of assuaging the loss, and runs very nearly as smoothly as 
the ol 'ZX did while making a fair amount more power and speed.  The 
Kawasaki was more comfortable as the Corbin it had was vastly superior 
to the stock Honda seat and it rode more smoothly, compared to the 
Bird's very stiff 175-mph suspenders.

Plus the Bird is black as was the GPZ.  Very homey.

I admit to also having thought about letting the old Geeper go to someone
else who would ride it more than I do.  I'm just not riding it much these
days, actually, not riding much at all since I bought my Corvette.  That
said, I took it out not long ago so I could move things around in my "not
big enough" garage.  Having three bikes, toolboxes, trash cans, and a car
in a one car garage is a bit tight, but we make it work.

Since it's not being ridden much, I've had thoughts about making that
garage a bit more usable, so I took it out to get to my Ducati.  It didn't
take much of a ride to bring the old feelings back about this bike.  At
73,000 miles, 27+ years of ownership and numerous rides and adventures, it
still feels tight, comfortable and fun to ride.  It's also one I can
comfortably flat foot at a traffic light as I wasn't blessed with long legs
at birth.  Mine also has a salvage title, courtesy of a purple 70 Dodge
Dart Swinger back about 20 years ago, so the selling value is far less than
what it's worth to me.  I won't mention the basement full of spare parts I
have in the basement, nearly enough to build another, sans engine and
frame.  I also have a lifelong friend who has lusted after it for a long
time and I'd probably give it to him rather than get insulted at its value,
like Ralph did.

So, it will likely stay in the garage with my old Vulcan 1600 and I'll end
up letting my Ducati Multistrada go.  It's a wonderful, fast and fun bike
to ride, but a little too tall and not one I would ever trust to ride to
Alaska as I did more than once on the GPZ.  When I retire in three more
years (no thanks to my ex) I want to ride to Alaska again, except from
North Carolina instead of Denver, I'll look at a smaller touring bike for
that trip.  When I'm too old to comfortably ride, I'll go get a CanAm or
just enjoy having the top off of my Corvette, I hope that day never comes,
but it probably will.  Meanwhile, I am planning to ride the GPZ to Daytona
for bike week next spring, which would add three more states to my 24
visited so far.  Time to ride!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I’ve kept the bike for all these years knowing that I won’t get much for it. I like the idea of getting my money’s worth out of. I bought it for $6,200 way back in 1998. Now it just gets in the way of my other garage stuff and sits. I think it knows I’m going to let her go as when I ran it two days ago a float stuck open. I’ll end up pulling the carbs and boiling them out in my ultrasonic cleaner then rebuilding. Done that enough times now. Biggest pain is getting the throttle cables back on. Sounds like I’d be doing OK if I get $1,500 out of it. Once the kids are out of school maybe I’ll pick up another ride as I’m sure I’ll have regrets.
