Thanks to all of you..my initial thought was "carbs" but as I have never worked on them..it'll be a nice weekend project, I guess 😲

Alex,

It sounds like a set of gummed up carbs to me.  I would check as the others have mentioned, but if you don't find anything, it probably needs a carb cleaning, those pilot jets clog up easily after sitting a long time.
