Bill, I don't know how old your CR-V is, but I do know that for the past
several years they've been rated to tow 1500lbs. with no available auxiliary
coolers from Honda.  That means they don't think any are necessary for that
load.  If it's new within the past few years, any damage caused by towing
<1500# would be covered under factory powertrain warranty for 5yr/60k miles
(US) anyway.

I wouldn't worry about it at all (unless you're going over the 1500).
