Paul,

Don't take this the wrong way, but why are you spending $ unnecessarily on 
OEM stuff like oil filters and crush washers when there are so many less 
expensive (and in some cases superior) alternatives available?

Crush washers:
Sears Hardware $0.50 ea (fiber, non-reusable)
Pep-Boys $1.79 / two-pack (copper, reusable after annealing)

Oil filters: (all about $4-$6 ea)

Not trying to start a flame war here, just trying to understand the 
rationale.
