Thanks for the welcome...

I know it's late...but welcome from the other side of the Lake.

As a user of the OEM bags, I'll be happy to agree, they aren't the best in the world, but they match the lines of the GPZ very nicely. I always worry I'll catch a larger bag on something as I ride by it. I've considered getting one of the top-mount bags, but lack of funds and major need has put that idea on hold.

And, yes, Scapps, the bags are still holding up for me. :)
i gotta say, the guy that repainted everything did a GREAT job of hiding the huge roadrash mark on the one bag. you can't tell which one absorbed your fall.

Unfortunately, I've been having some thoughts of selling the Geeper and going with a cruiser. some health issues have come up that make sitting in the GPZ's saddle for longer than an hour a VERY painful affair, and i already have the bar risers.
For now, i use it for the daily ride to and from work. We'll see what happens after i get some things sorted out this year.

Hi Art,

Thanks for the welcome and for keeping an eye out for the OEM bags. I've read a couple of articles that say they aren't the best design ever and aren't that big, but as you say they do look nice and will suffice for 90% of my riding. I have a nice set of large soft bags I use when I get the opprtunity to do some serious distance, which unfortunately is almost never :-(

Whereabouts in the GTA are you? I'm in Pickering.

Mike

Hi Folks,

I live near Toronto, and this will be my first year riding my red '96 GPZ 1100. I really like the smooth engine, comfy riding position, and classic look of the GPZ. The solid handling and 110 or so rear wheel horsepower is nice too.

I wanted to ask if anybody here has any info on where I might find a set of the factory hard bags for this model? I imagine they don't make them anymore, but if anyone is selling or knows where to find a set please let me know.

Mike

Welcome Mike!

I live in the GTA as well and own a 95 since new. I'll keep my open for
some OEM bags. They aren't the most practical, but they look nice!
