RE: 1 cylinder down‏ - update

Timothy: I didn't realize I'd need to rejet for pods. I'll get the pods eventually and chuck that air box, but for now I don't want to introduce jet changes too until it runs smoothly.

It sat for 24 hours in the Prime position and no leaking - so I think the float pin is back in business.

Ped: It doesn't look like the plug cables are replaceable without buying the coils too @ $70 * 2. That's going to wait until I've put everything back together and see how it runs with the new plugs.

Steve: I tried running the motor with the air injection tube plugged and unplugged - I don't notice a difference.

I did notice on the throat side of the air intake box there is another filter in there. The fiche simply calls it a duct, but it's wrapped with a foam filter tape that was 50% disintegrated. I don't think it's even replaceable without removing the air box. I'm going to wrap that duct with a fiberglass filter I have laying around.

Thanks all, john

I removed the air box (for good), and intend to install pod filters and a crankcase filter.I cleaned out #3's bowl and float pin (the one that flooded) and sprayed carb cleaner in all the intakes. I didn't remove/adjust the jets. I cleaned the spark plugs again; they all show about the same resistance on a meter. I put the tank and carbs back on and it's still not running well and stalls if I give it any gas, but I think I need pods in place.I'm beginning to think the ignition is at fault. As I mentioned in my last post, the engine was missing big-time a few weeks ago (before the hydro lock) then it magically starting working again after sitting for a day to two.
