Tinted screen, S/S fastener kit, Klavdylator, Hi flow air filter, XJR free flowing exhausts, full 3 bag Givi's, LOUD Horns, Sheepskin seat cover, Dave Ratfart carby kit,oh, lots of other little things,, its great!
Modifications: Planning to get a Stadium Technologies rear shock, its from Canada, and some of the blokes on the Yahoo FJ list have organised a bit of a group buy. Thanks Dominik! After that, I will do the 17" rear, undecided as of yet whether to use an XJR, or a YZF wheel. The XJR has got the blue spot rear brake calipers, Hmmm,,,,
Problems: yeah, well, its a big heavy old bike, innit? Goes like stink but, and its real comfy for touring, HEAPS less handle bar vibes on the "91 on models.
Comments:
Gunna buy me another one, when this one wears out. That might be a while,,,,,

Accessories: plan on getting taller screen,Im 190 cm or 6'4'' Tank bag, grips,
Modifications: I have designed and built a voltage regulator that works. It is better than the expensive O.E.M. one. S/S brake lines, get some , they are great, R1 brakes, Exhaust pipes from an XJR 1300 SP,new fork seals, rebuilt and resprung rear shock,10 w fork oil, progressive springs,
Problems: vibrating fairings'fixed with self adhesive rubber duct tape'; mesh grill vents fixed with silicone sealant ,,used small blobs, carbs synchronised, wheels balanced,,much smoother now will fit fiamm twin horns this weekend after I find room in the fairing.Ive fixed the vibrating mirrors by heating the plastic enough to slip a credit card between the mirror glass and rim ,be patient and gentle, cleaning out gunk inside and refilling with pressure pack foam. Make sure the 3 weights dont float to the top on the foam[had to redo mine] wait for it to harden, sand to shape ,credit card and hair dryer to replace.
Comments:
beaut old thing. any ideas on good mounting position for horns? Didnt fit the fiamm twin snail horns, put a kabata hi lo set on instead, very loud.Progressive springs went in today, raining heaps.Havnt gone for a ride yet. Yay! Springs work unreal- 450 km ride thru the s.e Q.L.D/N>S>W> border ranges like a different bike. Highly recomended. Also fitted a tall Givi screen, much better for me (6'4") .Pete Smith IS a trustworthy mechanic for anyone in S.E Q.L.D/ smithys@froggy.com.au is his email This is a great bike, I dont think I will sell it for a while, The Cops even seem to realise its a well kept classic, and pull blokes on new fast looking things over, and let me go! This has happened heaps now, mebbe they just havnt caught me .:-)
For Sale: Well, I sold the bike, but bought another one!! I've now got a 1993 model, not as sporty , quick, or as good handling as the 3CV, but it rides better. I will update the new one.

Big, fast, fun bike. A bit of a reach to the bars for me. Have never seen one with the exact same paint scheme as mine, close but not exactly. Makes me wonder if it had been down and a panel or two replaced with used ones from a different year.

Location: UK -- Basingstoke

Bikes Owned: Loads
Accessories: Baglux Tank Bag, 42Ltr Krausers (no longer used as caused weave at speed)
Modifications: Wisco 1314cc Bigbore, new journals/shells/bearings/chains/guides. K&N Filter in Std airbox, Stage 1 Dynajet, Dyna Coils, Taylor Leads. Stainless Downpipes and collector (FJOC) Laser K2 Mufflers. 3CV Front forks dropped 10mm through yolks, Thunderace Calipers, Goodridge S/S Hoses. EXUP 17" Wheels with custom spacers, brake torque arm and modified sprocket carrier. EBC Prolite 3CV Front discs, PFM Rear disc. 10 row oil cooler (FJOC) S/S Cap head fastners. 2 diaphram springs in clutch with OEM plates. S/S bar ends. 3CV indicators. Dyno'd at 132bhp - 89ft/Ibs Torque. Frame Nylon coated. rear Technoflex shock with ride height and remote adjusters. Scottoiler with front spocket spiggot.
Problems: Usual Fj problems. Clutch slave (2 replaced in 12 years). Suspected ignitor problem turned out to be nylon coating on frame reducing spark. Fixed with dedicated earth lead to coils. OEM rear shock replacement a revelation. Technoflex is 3rd replacement - quality excellent if a bit bulky (remote adjustors). Annual brake rebuilds fixed with Thunderace items. Flakey paint on frame resolved with Nylon coating. Head races 2nd set. Rear suspension bushes need regular maintenance - replacement expensive! The biggest limiting factor for me used to be tyre choice - exup wheels fix this but mean you need to adjust rear ride height to compensate. Handling now superb. (for a 20 year old dinosaur).Fairing plastic welded and resprayed due to age/stress by left hand air scoop and top of frame rail. Replacement not an option at Yamaha prices. Front mudguard stays crack - repeatedly despite plastic welding - metal braket planned.
Comments:
The 1314 Wisco kit provides significantly more torque. Best change to do in my opinion though is the Front fork and R1/Thunderace caliper mod. Planning to change front spocket for 16 tooth to return gearing to nearer standard (17" rear wheel actually smaller in Diameter)
