Bought bike from a guy who just wanted room in his garage and had no time to enjoy the bike. He had new clutch installed last year. I Put new battery in it, cleaned plugs, drained fuel and added premium, washed, polished and waxed her up, looks great! Bike runs very well actually bike is wickedly scary......full of get up and go!!!!!!! Have a friend with a new Buell who wants to race me in 1/4 mile at the track for $1,000.... I actually considered it but I don't want to have to take his money. See below, selling!!!

Problems:
Front brake pads only lasted 60 miles and scored new discs....wrong pads supplied by owners club. Sidestand switch failed outside home 10 mins after doing a 155 mph blast dowm the motorway !

In the midst of rebuilding the engine,clutch and transmission. Although the motor runs great, I had a head gasket start to go and I figured I might as well check everything. As well, I'm installing a new set of Progressive Suspension front and rear springs. New Lockhart windshield (haven't installed it yet).

I've been searching the Internet for an FJ1200 for nine months and finally found what I'd been looking for. It was worth the waiting! Has some nice extras like the the 17" rear wheel. Rode it home to Sweden in two days from a town 100 km south of Cologne in Germany, which also was my first ride ever on motorcycle = 1430 kilometer trip = 890 miles. Go figure! Love the torque (from 7.000 rpm and upwards always slides me a bit back on the seat) This ol' lady gets well-deserved respect wherever she goes.

Progressive Fork Springs on front. Stiffer spring + uprated rear shock. 15 wt fork oil. Stainless steel lined clutch & brake master- cylinders. Harder steel front discs & rear disc with EBC pads. Stupid tool kit holder cut out from under seat giving much more under seat storage space. Black engine downpipes polished to reveal shiny stainless steel. Black brake & clutch master cylinders polished - no more peeling paint.

Problems:
Wore out genuine front discs with Goodrich Kevlar pads in 4000 kms. Brake & cluth master cylinders both relined. Carburettor leaking - needle & float replaced. Handling massively improved by the above suspension modifications. Engine pinging - cured with higher octane fuel Starter motor sluggish when engine warm. Whining noise from fuel cap when bike stationary -CAN ANYONE ASSIST?

great for 2 up touring on the Autobahn at 180km/hr - but frustrated in Australia at 100 km/hr. Have done Brisbane to Sydney non stop. My right wrist felt like concrete - cruise control next time.

Tacho sticks sometimes but comes to life after 3-5 seconds, unsure why. Front end seems to twitch travelling round anything other than smooth corners, unsure why? maybe it needs progressive springs?
