| Modifications: Pretty much stock (out-of-the-box) form. Just recently changed from stock air filter to K&N, excellent idea for mountain riding. Changed windshield to aftermarket with taller, curved lip, and binding; creating a nice pocket of air for the longer rides or for the infrequent autobahn blast. Used synthetic oil for a short period quite a difference in engine performance, and may go back to it. | |||

Comments:
Of all the bikes over the years this is the one that screamed "keep me"! This bike has hauled wife or kids at autobahn speeds (purchased as USA spec in Bitburg Germany) way beyond the 140mph advertised speeds, for hours on end. heck, there were on occassion my pillion rider would fall asleep up to about 125 mph. With the taller windshield, these speeds were not a problem for the 8 years I road in Germany before shipping it back to the good ol' USA. And after the Bun Burner 1000 I just completed, it has reaffirmed that this is one-heck-of-a-motorcycle.

Fuel guage seems to have a mind of it's own. 2nd gear is starting to slip, but I think I can make it a couple years before I need to get the gears undercut. Looking for a different exhaust system because I'm tired of having to take the lower fairing and header off every time I change the oil. | |||
