Problems:
She idled a bit high during the trip home so gave her a full service and found out it was due to a faulty CDI. A quick negotiation with the local bike wrecker and $250 rectified that issue. Took her for a 200km jaunt and she just hummed along.

Comments:
Although 55000 kms seems a bit low for a 19 year old bike, I fell in love as soon as I saw her and since then I just know I've picked up a cracker and it's the beginning of a long and beautiful relationship !! It's now August 2010, 15000 kms have been added to the clock and she hasn't missed a beat. The love affair continues !!

Simply the finest bike made. A very capable everyday bike, Ride with the Goldwings yet twist the throttle, exert a little more effort and stay ahead of those average riders on full on Sport bikes in the twisties. I love seeing their faces when they arrive at the next stop and see me sitting atop a 17 year old "Sport Tourer" talking to my passenger.

Nothing to speak of really its a great bike. The clutch fluid needs bleeding from time to time. Other than that I had the front fork seals replaced. Not bad for a 21 year old bike.

Comments:
The last bike I had for my daily commute in and out of London (UK) was the FJ's baby sister the XJ600 (a '92' I think). The XJ was the last thing I sold before moving to Minnesota. When the ice thawed I starated looking for a bike again and found what is now my FJ1200 advertised in the twin cities. I had have a look. Within the first hundred yards of my test ride I had to have it. The FJ1200 is just a great bike.

Progressive fork springs, custom built Hagon shock,PFM front discs, R1 calipers, braided hoses all round, ZZR1100D2 front brake master cylinder, 10 row oil cooler (FJOC), Remus s/s 4-1 Exhaust (excellent kit), K&N pod filters. Dynojet stage 3, Factroty pro needle jets, 4º ignition advancer, Stainless chainguard (FJOC), FJR mirror conversion (good one), many s/s bolt conversions, high output headlight bulb, HCR Scottoiler with front sprocket quill,full repaint in black with faint metalflake overlay. FZR 1000 Genesis front and rear wheel conversions completed (much better rubber available).

Problems:
Wheel bearings changed at 25k, headraces shortly after. Clutch plates/spring at 45k. OE shock gave up at 35k. Fairing brackets crack up on a regular basis ( isn't JB Weld wonderfull). Buzzes from inner panels around clocks, fitted rubber pads in various places but never completly stopped them.

Comments:
The comfort express. Never let me down and still does 5-6000 miles per year of touring, two up with luggage. Will still hit 150 mph if asked and regularly returns 45 mpg. What more do you want? Serviced by 'Doc' @ FJOC. THE expert.

this is the forth FJ. I just love them. When the choice for my ride outreached my pocket (VINCENT BLACK SHADOW) I discovered a much similar adrenaline punch when I first rode an FJ 1100 in 1984. Beeeen there ever since and never a spot of bother. 100% perfect. Just keep up on the maitenance of you D I Ys, Don't forget the swing arn and shock linkage. One easy wat to put the maintenance program together. Is to think in the 3's just like money " We work for it; We get it; We Spent it. There are three divisions on the motorbike, front middle and back. Think about it and depending on your milage and pocket, spread your work out. You'll - Love your Bike more; Love to ride it more; and love to live longer - thats another 3. But if you do it yourself it's got to be right.
