rattle poss alternator drive? yet to suss out. help anyone? vibrations from fairing, helped when replaced solid ali engine mount with rubber( just one)20-11-03 major oil leak seal (plug) at end of crank RH side. does any one know if this can be replaced without splitting the case's? help. 25-11-03 PROBLEM SOLVED. replacement seal dosent have lip so can be replaced from outside.

Problems:
Fairing has cracks in upper l.h. side, due to getting clutch fluid on it. Fuse cover disintegrated after getting doused. Screen has "runs" on it after same problem with clutch. Belly pan, starting to separate at seams. Main stand spring weak.

Comments:
I always wanted an FJ1100 in 1984 when they were launched but couldn't afford one. It was hailed as the next generation of sport bike then and got some rave reviews in the UK bike press, until the Kwacker GPz900R came along. When I saw this one nearly 3 years ago, I just had to buy it, didn't even haggle over the price, just a new tyre, and 12 months tax and mot. This bike was in really good nick when I bought. It didn't seem like 14 years old and has certainly never seen a British winter. It has a plate, just above the oil cooler, saying it conforms to Australian rules and regs. I think 50k was for California, although this is allegedly from Belgium. It has a kilometre speedo, so I doubt it's a USA model but if anyone can definitely pin it down, I'd be interested. Still got the original exhaust system, in very good condition. Had the original shock when I bought it, which meant it went round corners like a wounded wheelbarrow at speed. Spending quite a few bob on it at the FJOC near Bristol sorted everything out though and now it handles well. I'll never sell it and even though it doesn't come out of the garage as often as my other bikes, when I go on long trips, or touring around Europe, it's on the FJ.

Starts and goes economical comfortable bike great for touring, I can still ride it for 2 to 300 K's without stopping for a rest. Still heaps of grunt and great for 2 up riding, a real nice safe bike to ride ....... the years of ownership say it all!!!
