Problems: Always been hard to start needing maybe four or five goes sometimes. Poor running at low revs now cured with the new ECU. Now runs hotter (around 70-75 degrees) with new thermostat. Oil level rising at an alarming rate. Blows smoke only on start up and only for about 30 seconds if reved after startup. Slightly uneven idle, still there after new ECU. Engine now rattles a little as it is running hotter.
Comments:

Comments:
Suzuki has finally gotten it right. This is the best bike I have ever owned. My last Suzuki was an '82 GS1100ES. I'd say this bike is a little different :) I also ride a Springer Softail, so the TL feels like a flying carpet after a putt on the Hog. The more I ride this bike, the more I love it.

Problems: leaking oil pump seal replaced under warranty side stand fell off at 3,000 miles bolts replaced under warranty. (watchout for this one).potentially very embbarrasing. Not to cool outside the local ATM machine.I just cought it before it went over.
Comments:
Still think this is a great bike. would recomend it to any one as a bargain buy especially at current deflated uk prices Two of my mates are currently looking at buying one. Waiting for the new ecu/thermostat should hopefully smooth out the low rpm running (coughs and farts between 3&4 K.

Location: n/a -- SANTA CLARITA,, CA,USA
Modifications: Sept. 97 ECM update. Big improvement. Smoother power through entire rpm range. Raised forks 8mm in triple clamps, made a big improvement in handling. Crank up the rear spring preload. It will make your rear tire last longer. This bike will never feel like a cruiser ( I can live with that)
Problems: ENGINE STUMBLES 3-5000 RPM,SUSPENSION WALLOWS,NEEDS SPRINGS/REVALVE. Problem fixed 90% with new ECM 9/97. Suspension better after adjustments listed above. Racetrack will need revalve. I had all the problems. Fuel in oil, level rising, stumbles, stalls, clutch slipping slightly 6-8m rpm. Dealer checked it all out and replaced ECM after serious complaints to Suzuki.
Comments:
LOOKING TO MAKE MODIFICATIONS. FULL SYSTEM PIPE, DYNOJET PC, SUSPENSION. LOOKING FOR SUGGESTIONS.

Usage: 1,850 miles, Street/Sport.
Owner: Dave Storey           Phone: 00441842753802
Email to Dave Storey
Location: n/a -- Norfolk,UK
Accessories: Baglux cover&bag,Micron race cans, rear hugger
Modifications: None found necessary so far. Bigger tank would be handy-90 miles between fillups -while running in!
Problems: Rear cowl distorted through sitting back too hard -repaired with Araldite and went on a diet.Doesn't like to hold steady @ 3-4000rpm (Suzuki recall received 26/9 for new ecu & thermostat-f.o.c.) Some problems experienced with third gear wheelies-rider error?
Comments:
Thanks to all journo's for slagging off the handling-as a result the local dealer knocked £2000 off list price! It's reminiscent of my old 900ss except everything is still attached when I've finished riding.
