Problems: Needs both side body covers. Runs rough, needs either a major tune up, or a new head gasket, but still has some power. Needs a new paint job which realy isn't that much of a problem for me. not that there is any thing wrong with it now, I just want to have a metalic silver bike. with a red frame.

Comments:

baught the bike from my uncle for $200.00 thats right two hundred dollars. he needed to make some room in his garage. I first drove it a year and a half ago and fell in love with it. but he let his son drive it for a month and kind of drove it in to the ground. literaly. nothing major just a bent exhaust pipe and scuffed up clutch cover. Last bike I had was a xs750 so I know where to get the parts I need. she is going to look, sound, and drive pretty sweet by this time next year. if not earlier.

This bike has a ton of power for an older bike. It's very comfortable for both rider and passenger. I bought it for $650 with only 16,000 miles. It had sat in his garage for 10 years and the tabs had been expired for 8 years. After a carb rebuild the thing has run great for 5 years now. I'm ready to move on though. Maybe a Yamaha R1 or Honda XX1100...

If you know where I can get pistons for the Caliper please let me know 'cause I am about to sell the bike - retiring to FL!

Comments:

It is parked in my heated/air conditioned home office, which has an easy exit to the garage and out to the street. I start it up twice a month (out of my office) and take a 2 mile round trip drive to my favorite Bikers Pub. And yes, we throw darts! But not at the bikes. Have had carbs fit with new gaskets and jets etc. New cables around. Carbs are synched purrrfect! There are no leaks from anywhere on the bike.

"love this old machine" found it covered and sitting in someones garage for twenty years, took one year to get it back on the road in good working condition.(the full fuel tank and carbs were a mess!)(I like it better than my X 1979 BMW R100RT, More Balls. Too bad it is not worth as much!

Still a wonderful bike to ride. Recent addition of Sylvania Xenarc Driving lights have made night driving a new experience. The 2 lights only draw 35W each and put out a huge amount of light, much more than any quarts iodide lights.
