Problems:
Gas tank was full of rust and found to be rusted through on entire bottom. Carbs were seized and had to be replaced. Front shock seals were leaking. Presently have bike running but working on problem that it will only idle. Problems with leaking fuel shutoffs
|

Comments:
Don't know yet if there are any problems with transmission or if valves or piston rings will have to be repaired. Valves still need to be set as it is backfiring lightly into number one carb.Unfortunately the only replacement carbs that I could find were I think from a 1981 which are slightly different. Having problems finding drawings for hose routing for fuel and vacuum lines as the Clymer #411 book shows a vacuum manifold in their drawing. This bike doesn't have that kind of a set-up.

Carbs are finicky but with enough effort they can be dialed in. Handle bar buzz Shifts will "clunk" into gear Small fuel tank.

Comments:
Beastly torque. Hang on tight when jumping to warp speed. Very dependable bike if maintained. Engines are almost bullet proof and don't mind being thrashed around. Comfortable riding position. These bikes are considered the original muscle bike and have a cult like following.

This bike is generally in excellent condition and almost totally original. Has been in England since 2001 and I purchased it in late 2013 from a single owner here in Ireland. Milage is really unknown as it has MPH clock. with 15,000 miles, the original should be a KM clock so 20 years in Canada is not recorded. I bought a NOS KM clock from France this week and will put it on so it will zero again! Update: 2020 May....still running very well..4k done, occasionally driven when weather ok.

this bike has high miles I'm not sure how high becouse the odometer is not functioning acurately it uses oil, has a bent second gear shift fork. I have personaly laid it down twice so the tank is dented on the left side. It runs ok but needs tlc.
