Tires on sale: Avon or Metzeler?

$223 (Before gift card) for front and back on the Metzelers?  That seems
awfully low.  At that price one could live with a quicker wearing
tire. That said, I haven't ran Metzelers for a long time so I don't have
any idea about performance.
