Comments:
I had no idea this motorcycle was so good!! I positively beemed the first time on her, and still do. I have ridden in some pretty nasty weather the short time I've owned her, and have found her to be very stable, and when the weather is nice, she is absolutely wonderful to ride! I hope to have this machine for a LONG time. Just turned 65000 km's (14 Sept 02) while doing a toy run to Port Alberni. Great road and beautiful scenery.

(Too loud for the neighbors at 6am)I have now installed a Vance&Hines SS2-R and replaced the VM33'S with worked over "stock" carbs and a pressurized airbox. BRAKING U.S.A. ROTORS. DYNATEK S-200 IGNITION. ACCEL COILS. Progressive fork springs and rear shock.
Problems: 2ND GEAR IS JUST STARTING TO JUMP OCCASSIONALLY. FINDING CORRCT JETTING TAKES A LOT OF TIME IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOOSE YOUR BOTTOM END. FUEL LIGHT DIDN'T WORK (SENDER WAS BAD, NOT TO EXPENSIVE) FUEL PETCOCK HAS SMALL VACCUUM LEAK BUT IS TOO EXPENSIVE TO FIX RIGHT NOW. Undercut 2nd gear, New head after original cracked. Stainless valves, porting etc.
Comments:
FANTASTIC BIKE, I DONT THINK I'LL EVER SELL IT. BUT MORE MODS ARE ON THE WAY (17" WHEELS BRAKES ETC.)WELL I FINALLY REPLACED THE PETCOCK ALONG WITH EVERY PIECE OF BODYWORK. TILIKE TO HAVE SPARES BUT THE BRAND NEW STUFF LOOKED SO NICE I HAD TO PUT IT ON AT LEAST FOR A WHILE UNTIL I FINISH THE NEW YAMAHA BLUE PAINT JOB ON THE OLD PLASTIC. REPLACED THE STOCK DISCS WITH ROTORS FROM BRAKING U.S.A. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. WITH THE DUNLOPAD PADS I CAN LIFT THE REAR WHEEL WITH A QUICK STAB OF THE FRONT BRAKES. BEST MONEY SPENT ON THE BEAST YET. Still no wheel change.

Comments:
I used to own an FJ1100 but i wrote it off in a nasty accident and after 3 years managed to get the 1200 and it is much better. I believe the 1200 to be finished of better: ie the fuel system and the way it handles far outways the 1100. I had a problem with the 1100 not starting in wet weather due to the coils getting wet even when parked up. the 1200 has not missed a beat yet.
