Problems:
Pillion comfort as it relates to air flow. have tried a couple CeeB screens and now have a Rifle which is wider and has helped some. The "hot" setup in summer is the Rifle tuning block with stock screen. Much lower leaves head in clean air.

Comments:
One awesome bike. Great power, very good handling, easy to flick around despite the weight, perfect riding position, excellent brakes. Suspension is OK, not as good as it should be given how good the rest of the bike is. This has mostly been resolved with suspension upgrade.

Adjusted lever angle of foot break (down) to stop rear break lock-up (highly recommended), Rear shock spacer. Slapped on D&D mufflers and a power commander with a D&D specific map. Next winter project will be Racetek springs and a new rear shock.

Problems:
It was a ticker. Got it fixed by Dryer in Indy at 20k mls (3 yrs old). 100% covered under warranty, good service. Only midwest dealership I know of with a happy ex-ticker customer.

Snap my wrist in 2nd gear and front wheel goes way up. Would only sale to get a red one. Thing I like least: Battery access is like a Rubic's Cube (poorly designed).

Problems:
Did a 770 mile day (13 hrs in the saddle) on 2-lane backroads in WA/ID/OR and found the stock saddle really sucked, so I had Rich's Custom Seats build me a new one. Documented at http://www.fjr1300.info/mods/.

Comments:
Did the MotoMan break-in (http://www.mototuneusa.com) procedure, changed oil and filter at 25 miles (lots of metal in the oil). Between 600 and 4750 miles it burned only about 4 oz. of oil, so I guess the MotoMan break-in worked pretty damn well! After getting the Ohlins dialed in, I found the front worked best with 3 rings of preload, 20 clicks out on compression, and 8 clicks out on rebound.
