Location: USA (NorthEast) -- Alliance
Experience: 28 years riding
Bikes Owned: 8
Modifications: Resistor Mod. Modified factory exhaust canisters.
Problems: None yet.
Comments:
I wanted a bit louder exhaust but I hate aftermarket exhaust. I bought a second pair of factory canisters off Ebay for $40.00. With the canister off the bike drill a 1/2" hole in the first baffle plate, inline with the exit tube. This really increases the sound without cracking or being too loud. Its just right for my tastes. If you want it a bit louder, just keep opening the hole you drilled by 1/16ths until the sound is where you want it. Any good local weld shop can Mig the hole shut cheap if you over do it. The plates are made of stainless and it takes a good drill bit to drill them. New Bridgestone BT010R's, the Metzlers only lasted 2,600 miles and 2 track days. The Bridgestones are broken in now and seem to stick as well as the Metzlers, May 31st will be my first track day and the true test for the Bridgestones. Caution: The BT010R's were REALLY slippery for the first 50 miles or so , I about lost the rear twice breaking them in.

Modifications: Carbon fiber rear hugger(destroyed when the swingarm broke!!! Which Suzuki refuses to replace)UPDATE 18JULY02 2 months later Suzuki has decided to replace my rear fender, I got an NWS, nicer unit, lousy mount. Ok I am stuck with the bike, hopefully it doesn't kill me, but for now I am going ahead with a few mods. I just installed a complete TLR front brake setup (w/EBC HH pads), what a difference!!! I got speedbleeders and will install them when my Goodrigde Kevlar brake lines get here. I also just got TBR carbon fiber slip-ons and a PCII and TRE, still have stumbles(which turned out to be the tranny like I told the dealer in the first freakin place). Removed pair valve and added Intu/block off plates. Installed the turn siganl integrator, hacked off that GIANT fender! Now I need to figure out what I am going to do about the front. I want flush mounts, but dont want to modify the front fairing at all. Added frame and spool delrin sliders. PowerBronze yellow double bubble screen.
Problems: Dead battery, bad regulator both replaced under warranty. Oil leak from (front left side, do not know the origin, but it is dripping off of the back of the fan)? Dealer replaced fan- Oil still leaking, Suzuki now says that is normal.. no more will be done. 3k miles and im in need of a new back tire! At 7,200 miles I need another rear tire!!! Gas in oil, Suzuki says that it is nothing to worry about. 23May02 swingarm broke in half VERY dramatically. Luckily I was only going 25mph and was able to hang on. Suzuki really fucked me on this one. They did not even repair all the items damaged in crash. I WILL NEVER BUY A SUZUKI AGAIN! THEIR SERVICE SUCKS! 5 July 02 new oil leak, output shaft and clutch pushrod are leaking! Dealer will fix under warranty. Better not tell SUSUCKI! They don't like warranty work done. I think that it brings down their profits, they didn't do so well last year. They only made $17 BILLION DOLLARS (info from http://www.suzuki.co.jp). Dearer fixed and I have not had any oil leaks in the past 3 days. Imagine my luck, my JAP bike isn't leaking oil!!!!! There was a reason that I bought a Japanese MC and not an Italian one. I wanted good reliability and good customer service. I was WRONG to buy a Suzuki, I should have bought a Honda. Wow the bike is out of the shop for almost a 3 weeks and I notice that the frame is cracked! This after is being in the shop for a month for the swingarm. It was in the shop for another month for the frame. Bike was out for another month and they finally decide to fix the tranny. But get this now that I have been riding it for so long on the phukt tranny they say that the damage is extensive enough to call it abuse! So not only is the bike in the shop for another month, but they stick me with half of the bill!!! Bastards! UPDATE! 16 APRIL 03 Moved to colder climate and the bike has been in the garage for 6 months. Have only done 1,500 miles this year (as opposed to 1k a week in TX) and the bike is leaking oil again and the tranny is shifting like chit and now it is using coolant! Where will it end?!?

Problems: Watch out for bits falling off, and always replace fasteners with threadlock; especially the two long bolts that fasten the OE rotary damper to the frame that will try to escape via their access holes in the left-hand frame spar (not amusing!)
Comments:
My bike is now barking mad; 100mph+ wheelie potential, 120bhp/75lbft at rear wheel, about 8kg lighter than stock, superb gearbox/clutch, and an exhaust note like nothing else...

Accessories: Have added carbon hugger , keeps lots of dirt of hard to clean areas. Braided brake lines ,simple to sort but make braking a lot better. Taken off those original indicators and put small flush mounted lights on, looks terrific . Bought a pair of straight through SWONA cans and the sound is so loud not sure i will keep them on all year as neighbours curtains twitch when i go to work . Also fitted a bouble bubble screen light tint which takes a lot wind blast from me at speed . Also have scott oiler on but not keen on it as rear wheel gets in a hell of a mess but maybe put up with it we will see.
Modifications: No mods yet read all mods but not to sure about doing in case something goes toes up.
Problems: Bought bike at start of summer and didnt notice fuel leak sorted problem with new gasket cost £30 . Also horrendous slipping clutch , tried lots of things , oiling cable , shimming springs which did help, so opened clutch up and found plates to be worn to nothing replaced plates with EBC item and stiffer springs and no problem since. Had ecu replaced originally slight on/off jerkiness @3000rpm but no big deal. Oil leak from clutch cover after tampering but fixed no problem by filling groove in cover with clear silicone and pushing rubber ring into the sealant and then leaving to cure over night.
Comments:
Use bike all year round and cleans up really well after good wash after every ride due to salt on roads suppose its better than having a spill on ice
