Garage door opener in fairing; switch on dash Suzuki Steering Damper - works Ok, but in the way. It now resides in the box with all the emmisions cannisters. Polished the tubing parts of the frame. Looks Cool!
Problems: Third ECU, 'new new' model, works good Be sure to blip the throttles hard while you gaze down the throats of those 52mm throttle bodies. You can see the intake valves, and the sound at WOT! Woof! Still get the occasional surge/gasp in the stumble range.

The exhaust is the full System Yoshimura RS3. Got change all the fake carbone to real carbon, plus the rearview mirror also in carbone I've put the front break of the 750 GSXR 97 there's a red Tank bag and i've removed all the stickers. I've put a Barnet clutch. Changed the 2 shocks of the fork, by two white power spring. the seats are now more confortable. I've paint the wheels in black with the edging in red. The rear shock as been change for an Olhins,
Modifications: The engines in France are normaly blocked at 100 hp. So I've change the 2 admitance over head cam and the power commander so the engine is now in full power at 132,9 hp. I've replace the rear hydrolic shock by a conventionnal shock oil/gas, And the noise is now of 107 dbs, absolutly not street legal (But who care!. I've change the 17 tooth of the secondary transmition to a 16 tooth.
Problems: Cable of the clutch. The gear box is getting very hard. The clutch start to spin at 4000 and 7000 rpm. I've lost many screw, almost like an harley! I'm not even talking about the Flames that often come out of the left exhaust Engine to cold in winter (45 degres celcius. Leak from the water pump, Suzuki changed it 6 times, before they decide to change the cluch cover where the pump is on. At 26000 miles, my clutch was dead. I've explode the gearbox at 34,000 miles, not under the warrenty, got it repaird my self... Then my bike was stolen 500 miles after that...
Comments:
I've ride this bike from the first day, every day since now no matter what weather was, This is a wonderfull bike to ride especialy when it's dry, the engine is to powerfull under rainy days, I get used to it but it's no fun. I wish rear tires could be less expensive. Buell or Ducati, No way! Maybe our new French Voxan... ...Now that My bike has been stolen, I've bought a 750 GSXR (what a crap! It's for sell) I'm gonna buy a new TLS on yellow...

Owner: Alan Maine           Phone: 0181 348 5407
Email to Alan Maine
Location: UK -- London (North)
Experience: 4, some track days
Bikes Owned: 4
Accessories: None
Modifications: Changed to D207s from standard MEZs. Much much better. Then changed to 180 section rear tyre, on advice of another owner (and backed up by comments here). Makes a huge difference I can now turn without mega understeer!
Problems: Dripped oil from engine...got it sorted...it was a poorly engineered nut apparently. Battery drained by Datatool alarm so needs frequent running! Cut out and died from loose battery connection in wet. Sorted by Green Flag man.
Comments:
My dream bike, but a real challenge to set up and ride properly, but I'm now getting there after 6 months! The 180 section rear tyre makes a mega difference. Use it insanely for trip through London to work. Mine doesn't wheelie so easy (but on demand it does, oh yes), I think this is down to my riding style, but I reckon the rumours about later spec bikes being castrated (a bit) are true. Fine, despite comments in bike mags, for touring...more comfortable than my old CBR600 for long distance work. Next improvement finances permitting is cans, but the stock ones give a reasonable boom for yer bucks. Finally, anyone got any tips for cleaning the shite off the front down pipe?

Comments:
Any help or info on processor fixes or part no.s appreciated. Does anybody know if original processor can be reprogrammed? I don't think I should have to buy an aftermarket part to fix a new motorcycle. Local dealer doesn't seem to know much, or just doesn't want to mess with it.

Comments:
This bike is Scary fast! Naybe it's just me, coming from my 66 Honda 450 Bomber but this bike just picks up the front end on its own. The bike is a 97 but was actually only sold from the dealer in 99 making the bike just over one year on the street, I got a great deal on this bike considering it's condition.

Problems: several, thanks apparently, the shift shaft seal is directly in front of the front sprocket and this makes the seal go out often. also the crankcase ventilation tube fills with oil and leaks from the top of the motor area. this may be exacerbated with a lot of time spent on the rear wheel. third, the fuse for the gauge set and blinkers has been blowing. mind you, this bike is essentially stock.
Comments:
its a hoot to ride but so many problems. its a good alternative to my yzf 1000. not as fast but real small and fun. most of the time its my girlfriends ride.

Let's hope the QC department doesn't let shoddy parts out.
Problems: The clutch slipped at 6000rpm, when hard on the gaz. Dealer fixed it by "massaging" the slipper clutch mecanism. Started slipping immediately in 3rd, 4th,5th. Back to the dealer, new clutch plates. So far so good.
Comments:
Had the bike dynoed in stock form. 114 SAE ? brake horsepower 74Lbs. of torque. The TL is a wonderfull motorcyle. I traded a 95 ZX9, and the Tl reminds me of a TZ 250 I used to race in the early 80's. Handling is lively but it's up to the rider to deal with it.
