Accessories: My TL is balck very black with just the original SUZUKI on the tank. Turn signals has been changed
Modifications: 2 NIKKO racing, the more lovely than others but... too much sound and nearly forbidden for the passager new french ECU and thermostat
Problems: usual problems : - gas leak...solved by a new tank - stumbles at 3-4000 rpm not solved yet - oil leak not solved yet - very high consumption of tyres Z1r
Comments:
I find this bike more difficult to ride than a four one. Now, after 3000 kms, I begin to find it more interested. I think the TL has a potential, a big potential not easy to reach. So, if it isn't easy, it's interesting. More I ride it, More I like it

Email to josh norem
Location: n/a -- San Francisco, CA
Accessories: steering damper, new ecu.
Modifications: Black ceramic D&D exhausts (sets off car alarms all the time!)
Problems: This is by far the most enjoyable bike I have ever ridden or owned. It does wheelies anywhere in the rev range, even from as low as 3,000 rpm, it goes 100 mph in second gear, and with the D&D pipes, it sounds even better than most ducs, and is definitely an eye-catcher. I love my TL, and all the bad press the bike got is bullshit~~! It handles perfectly, has tons of ground clearance, and has an engine that is only upstaged by the YZF R1 and the ZX-9 -- but neither of them have the visceral growl of a twin! I'm in love! Buy one now, and if you have one alraeady, let's go riding!
Comments:
This bike rules! I have not had a single problem with it whatsoever, and the power is addictive. I never used to do wheelies, now I do ten a day, anytime the road straigtens out, it's just a little tug at the throttle and the front is right up ~ !!! what a rush...must be illegal.

Accessories: Passenger Grab-Bar. Steering damper. LP Carbon Fiber tank guard.
Modifications: YOSHIMIRA RS-3 RACE MUFFLERS Removed the waring stickers that had seemed to be welded to the fuel tank.
Problems: When ridden the first couple of months I experienced that the bike would die every time I pulled in the clutch. The problem has seemed to have corrected itself after putting more miles on it. I've also had the clutch start slipping in the higher RPM range. The stock rear tire has a very short life, but performs very well. THIS CLUTCH THING SCARES ME! THIS BIKE IS BRAND NEW!! IS EVERYONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM?
Comments:
The TL1000 is an amazing bike to ride I love the wheelie ripping torque. I am very pleased with the machine, and will probably never own a four cylinder bike..

When I hit some traffic the temp went up to around 200 deg and then when I went to take off I heard a slight bit of knocking (pre-detonation).

Comments:
Stoppies, Wheelies, Rolling burnouts, etc arn't clever and arn't hard......but I luvit!!!! Suzuki have learnt how to give a normal human being King Kongs gonads in one lesson. (Got used to it now, I can beat NTV's from lights) The Suzuki damper is deeply deeply crappy. - almost every time now.

Problems: early on the FI computer programing was terrible. Bucking, detonation, very touchy. Replaced under factory recall with the new version, vastly improved. Modifications: HAD ECM REPLACED AND OF COURSE THE CLUTCH STUFF. I'M LOOKING INTO THE AFTERMARKET COMPUTERS. DISCONNECTED THE ANTI-WHEELIE WIRE AND WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE ON THE BOTTOM END.(UNDER RIGHT SIDE FAIRING-PUSH OUT THE GROUND WIRE AND TAPE IT.I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WIRE RETARDED THE TIMING IN THE FIRST THREE GEARS. NOW I GET POWER WHEELIES IN THIRD WITH A GIRL ON THE BACK.
Problems: STUMBLED AND SURGED LOW RPM.(SOLVED COMPLETELY WITH THE 2ND COMPUTER,FEELS FASTER TOO AND SOUNDS A LOT THROATIER.I HEAR THE THIRD COMPUTER KILLS POWER.DONT GET IT.)
Comments:
AFTER 6 THOUSAND MILES THE BIKE REALLY BROKE IN SWEET! GAS MILEAGE IS AT 40 EVEN WHEN I'M ON IT HARD(ALWAYS) AND IT SEEMS TO BE MORE POWERFUL AND MUCH HAPPIER TO RUN UNDER ANY CONDITIONS. STICK WITH THIS BIKE AND YOU'LL NEVER PART. I'M ON MY SECOND ONE ALREADY - SOME DICK HIT IT WHILE PARKED. HOW WORTH IT ARE THE GEARING CHANGES? ANYBODY RIDE THE CREST - I GO MOST SUNDAYS.

Comments:
My first sports bike - I love it. More comfortable than what I feared. Dreaming of a "nacked" TL without the fairing. Big job though, mainly to change electronic instruments.
