Bikes Owned: 8
Accessories: Tourmaster magnetic tank bag, Tourmaster tailbag (snap bungees together under the rear seat), SA Engineering radar detector mount (attaches to fairing stay crossmember, see at www.saeng.com)
Modifications: removed bungee hooks, all decals except EFI, V-twin and Suzuki. Fastline braided front lines, EBC greens, DynoJet Powercommander II, K&N filter, TBR carbon slip-ons. Removed CA-spec evap canister and hoses so I could put something in the tail compartment. Relocated the coolant temp sensor using the '98 spec thermostat housing.
Problems: '97 ECU, wouldn't run in neutral. '97 rev B, stumbles 50% better but quit constantly. 98-spec ECU, stumbles 90% gone, less power. Suzuki replaced right front fairing after discovering a paint blem under the left TL sticker. Tank leaked, stopgap fix by dealer, recall came a few months later. Rubber chain guide split in half (too many wheelies I guess) and the chain cut a minor mark into the bottom of the swingarm before it was noticed. Fuel accumulates in oil. No clutch problems or coolant leaks. TBR cans burned up in 500 miles - factory repaired and they've been okay for 6000+ miles so far.
Comments:
I bought it the day it came off the first truck and I honestly haven't regretted it. Great wheelies and stoppies, and handles well enough two-up. Suzuki damper was unnecessary and way too stiff. D207GP's were awesome but weaved at high speeds, so I'm back to the standard MEZ1R front, MEZ1 180/55 rear - the smaller profile tire handles noticeably better. Get a K&N and PCII - best 300 bucks you'll spend on this bike.
For Sale: *wanted* does anyone have CF ram air scoops or instrument panel replacements for the cheesy faux carbon stickers? also any DJPC2 maps or development procedures?

Modifications: Art alloy tail pipes ( very loud, very good ) GSX-R 6 pot front calipers, excellent feel and stopping power.
Problems: Touring round Europe and in the Alps bike would not run properly above 3000m, After returning to UK, third feels as though the gear is missing a tooth. I thought it might bethe chain catching on the sproket. I changed the chain and sprockets to a DID x ring still a problem, only in third on lower revs, full power no stumbling. Has any one experianced this if so any help would be appreciated. Clutch now slipping and any advice here would also be good. Many thanks.
Comments:
Love the power, looks, handling and the noise. Hate the minor problems. If I can solve the problems it would be the ultimate bike. The bike is an import so Suzuki UK are as helpful and as usefull as a choclate chain.

Bikes Owned: 6
Accessories: Posy looking carbon fibre tax disc holder. Kevlar tank protector. Carbon fibre look "fenda extenda", well worth £15 for all the crap it stops from hitting the exhaust.
Modifications: Scorpion alloy end cans, fantastic looking exhausts for the price (£220 the pair), really good build quality, mega noise and guaranteed for life. well reccomended. Goodridge hoses on the front, make a lot of difference. Really need a set of six-pot calipers from TL1000R or GSXR, look good as well (which i think is important) Didn't like the standard metzelers, once they started to wear in the middle the bike would bounce its way around bends (not reccomended). I now use Avon Azaro's, i get them cheap and find them to be confidence inspiring, but only last 1000 miles maximum.
Problems: All modifications were done when i bought the bike from a dealer. After a week the bike developed a "ticking" sound, had to go in for some work to the cam, all done F.O.C . Fuel consumpion is around the 30 to the gallon mark, small fuel tank is a bit of a pain in the arse. Trying to keep the downpipes clean and tidy is a full time job as well. The trick is buy a small tin of "cylinder black", you can simply apply the paint on a rag and keep your downpipes black.
Comments:
This is by far the best bike i have ever owned, monster power, monster wheelies (to my girlfriends horror) The insurance is a bit steep for someone of my age (£1100 T.P.F.T) I also find it to be a brilliant bike for pillion. All in all a shit hot bike that gives me the horn every time i look at it.

Modifications: All recalls have been done. Yosh Full Race RS3 high mounts that I got from Shane Buxman off this registry, Shane thanks for not screwing me. God these things sound good. Turns lots of heads now. Tank bra, chopped rear fender,16 tooth sprocket, 5 mm fork mod, Now I need some turn signals.
Problems: Engine stumbles with new ECU, Im about to have it tuned by a guy that works at the Suzuki dealership and also has a TL so Im hoping he knows what he is doing. Likes to do "Smoking Wheelies" with cold tires.
Comments:
Front tire is worn out on the edges and the rear is worn out in the center, I guess thats from blasting the Ga mtn corners and the straights. It is the best bike ever and all my buds love it, but Ive ridden their bikes and the GSXR's they ride do feel a little better in the turns, to bad they dont have any useable RPM, I can keep up with them pretty easy and not even come close to the redline. I love it. Im coming off a Shadow 600 so I think its certainly a different animal .

Problems: leaking water pump (oil), fixed under warranty, no other problems
Comments:
loads of fun, I think this bike is great, took it to willow Springs and I think it handled better than my TZR250 up into the point when I crashed it. :-( turn 1 Lowside I guess it is better than HIGHSIDING! I just got my new tank :-) I am happy as now I do not have the dented one.

Modifications: Yosh Full Race. Dynojet Power Commander 2. Custom mapping. Suzuki Performance Clutch and Barnett Springs fixed clutch slip. RK Gold 530 Chain.
Problems: Previous owner had most problems... ECU, Oil weeping, Coolant Leak, Clutch Slip. All of which were fixed. Clutch still slips, I think this is because it is worn from the previous slipping and the fact that it has almost 10000 miles on it. Frame crack on rear damper mount. Suzuki will pay to get it welded. *update* Frame is cracked, or i should say torn all the way through up near the steering stem, right near where the radiator mounts to the casting. Both sides of frame are torn. Working with Suzuki right now to try and get a new frame. Suzuki gave me a new frame and other damaged parts from crack. Im happy!
Comments:
Liked the feedback from the Hi-Sports, but only got about 2000 out of a rear and 2800 out of a front, 207s stick good, but more twitchy in the straights. Seem to wear better so far. Makes 122.3 HP at 10000 RPM. Should be able to get 125 with a little more messing on the Power Commander II.

This bike is brutal. For no good reason it high sided mee on my 2.day riding. Minor damage on rider, but need a new fairing on the right side and new handelbar....I'll try to control my right hand after this and remember to move my fat ass. After 7k. km.experince I am getting more comfortable with that flashing response and cruel power, but are still far away from knowing all about this mean monster. What a bike.
